The Food Company Nashville is a quaint little café in Green Hills’s heart, serving creative sandwiches, wraps, salads, and soups.
Even though I’ve lived in Nashville for nearly six years now, I didn’t know about The Food Company until a few months ago. Now I know, and I’m so happy I do! It makes my weekly journey to Trader Joe’s so much better!
For over 15 years, this quaint little café has been tucked away in the heart of Green Hills. The atmosphere is casual and cozy, with plenty of seating inside and out.
You order at the counter, and they bring the food to your table. The daily specials are listed on a board behind the register and on their website. My son was very happy to see quesadillas as the special last week and said they were delicious!
You can even grab a homemade dessert! They’re made fresh every day, and you’ll want more than one. 😉
The menu is small, but creative, featuring sandwiches, wraps, salads, and soups. They also offer gluten-free wraps, which are seriously delicious. I usually don’t order wraps, but the friendly cashier suggested it, and I didn’t regret it!
BLT #2 with chipotle mayo, cucumber, roasted tomatoes, and avocado on farm bread.
I LOVE that they offer different options for each sandwich. For those that like to keep it simple, they’ve got you covered. And for those who like things a little more unique, there’s plenty of choices for you too! The Food Company also has several options for gluten-free and vegetarian diners. Although I’ve never tried it, the fruit tea gets rave reviews!
You can get a BLT, straight up with bacon, lettuce, and tomato, or you can get a BLT #2 with roasted tomatoes, avocado, cucumber, and chipotle mayo. They also have daily specials posted behind the counter. (I’ll be going real soon for The Appleton Griller!!)
BLT #1 plus avocado in a gluten-free wrap – pressed!
Pro tip: Ask them to press your sandwich. If you ask for it toasted, you will get toast, so I’m always very clear that I would like it pressed on the panini press.
They also offer an impressive selection of grab-and-go meals, ranging from chicken salad to soup to enchiladas. And speaking of soup, their chunky tomato soup is hugely popular and so delicious!
Ham sandwich #2 with apple chutney, brie cheese, and dijon butter – YUM!
There’s a reason I’ve been four times in two months. There’s nothing fancy or pretentious here – just consistently good, simple food! My recommendations are the BLT #2, chunky tomato basil soup, the Tea Room salad, and the veggie sandwich, which might be the best veggie sandwich I’ve ever had. The artichoke spread makes it!
