Best Quick Service Breakfast At Animal Kingdom
If you ask 10 Disney addicts which park has the best food, you’ll likely get 10 different answers. Personally, I think Epcot has the best food overall because I love the unique, delicious options each country offers. However, breakfast at Animal Kingdom is unmatched! Here’s why.
With unique options like pork shoulder hash and French toast with blueberry cream cheese and passionfruit glaze for a hearty breakfast potato bowl, the options at Animal Kingdom are more exciting than your typical breakfast fare.
So, grab your pen and add these to your Disney food plan. You know what I mean: that color-coded spreadsheet tracking every little detail of your trip, because true Disney addicts know the planning is half the fun!
Breakfast at Animal Kingdom is better simply because there are more options and you can get them as soon as the park opens. Early mornings at Epcot offer very few choices since most of the World Showcase stays closed until lunch. Magic Kingdom has more spots open, but they aren’t that exciting, and Hollywood Studios is even more limited. It’s not so much about which park is better as it is about which park has the best food available the second you enter the gates.
Breakfast at Animal Kingdom
Most options for quick service at Animal Kingdom open the second the park does, perfect for when you want to grab a quick bite on your way to a first Lightning Lane. Since all the Disney food spots on this list align with standard Animal Kingdom operating hours (unless otherwise noted), you can count on them being available as soon as you arrive.
Breakfast Bowl at Yak Yeti Local Foods Cafรฉ
The spot is so slept on! The breakfast menu is small, but it has one of our favorite quick breakfasts in all of Walt Disney World. The breakfast bowl consists of a layer of breakfast potatoes topped with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, peppers, onions, and your choice of bacon or sausage for $13.99. It is hearty, savory, and satisfying! You can get it without the meat for $11.99, but we’ll always opt for a little extra protein when it’s available. Croissant Breakfast Sandwich – Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery
Located in Africa, Kusafiri has a great selection of pastries and specialty coffees. Starting with the bacon, egg, and croissant sandwich. A buttery croissant is filled with bacon and egg. The standout is the tomato pepper relish, an absolute flavor bomb. It is a little sweet, a little savory, and complements the smoked bacon and buttery eggs perfectly. It is served with a generous portion of potato barrels for $9.29. I’ll be honest. This is a little hard to eat, but we’ve ordered it enough times now that we know to ask for an extra plate and eat it with a fork and knife.
Breakfast Totchos – Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery
Next up are the breakfast totchos. Disney World has no shortage of loaded totcho bowls. In fact, I wrote a whole post sharing our favorites if you want to check it out here. There is nothing not to love about crispy, salty tater tots topped with creamy scrambled eggs, cheese sauce, and crispy bacon. They are $11.49 and will fill you up! We usually share these with a honey pistachio croissant, which you can find at Kusafiri and also at Tamu Tamu, which we’ll talk about next.
Guava & Cheese Danish – Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery
The Guava and Cheese Danish for $5.29 is underrated. I didn’t expect it to be served warm, but it is, and it is glorious! The pastry is soft and buttery, and the guava and cheese are perfectly balanced, with neither overwhelming the other. The flaky pastry, with savory cheese and sweet guava, is absolutely delicious! Stuffed Pancake Sandwich – Tamu Tamu Refreshments
If the line is long at Kusafiri, Tamu Tamu Refreshments is right behind you across from Dawa Bar. You can grab two popular snacks here, starting with the Stuffed Pancake Sandwich for $9.49. A pancake pocket is stuffed with sausage, guava paste, egg, and cheese. If the guava paste throws you off, do not let it. They use a very small amount to create the perfect sweet-and-savory balance. This is more filling than it looks.
The Stuffed Pancake Sandwich is available at many locations during breakfast, including Tamu Tamu Refreshments and Kusafiri Coffee Shop in Africa, Isle of Java on Discovery Island, and Pongu Pongu in Pandora. Although it is not officially advertised, Drinkwallah in Asia sometimes has it too!
Pistachio Croissant – Tamu Tamu Refreshments
The honey pistachio croissant is absolutely in my top ten Disney snacks. For $6.49, this buttery, flaky croissant is topped with a light honey drizzle and crushed pistachios. It is so simple yet so delicious. The honey balances the toasted nuts perfectly and helps the pistachios stay put. If I could change anything, I’d ask for even more pistachios! Pork & Potato Hash – Satu’li Canteen
Located in the Pandora section of Animal Kingdom, Satu’li Canteen makes it into many of my blog roundups. You really cannot go wrong here any time of day, and it genuinely serves some of the best food at Animal Kingdom! Where else can you find slow-roasted pork shoulder hash with chorizo sausage and charred onion sauce for $13.29 at a quick-service location? The food here makes your mouth so happy. As far as quick service locations go, I think this is the best breakfast in Disney World and a must for us on every trip.
Cinnamon French Toast – Satu’li Canteen
As someone who doesn’t typically gravitate toward French toast, this version is another absolute must. For $12.99, you get two thick pieces of French toast with blueberry cream cheese and a passion fruit glaze, plus a slice of sausage to add the savory balance you need. It is delicious!
You can also get this same meal off the kids’ menu. The only difference is you get one piece of French toast instead of two, but you also get two sides and a drink. Frittata & Beef – Satu’li Canteen
This dish gets mixed reviews, but I absolutely loved it! A small vegetable frittata is topped with whipped goat cheese and served with thinly sliced wood-fired beef lightly tossed with chimichurri. Everything about this was delicious. The beef was tender and flavorful, the frittata was light and fluffy without being spongy, and it came with a generous dollop of whipped goat cheese on top. I always appreciate a side of greens. Overall, I found this dish to be hearty, flavorful, and satisfying for $14.29. Disney Trip Must Haves

- Isle of Java is a small food stand on Discovery Island serving a sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit for just $6.99. If you love a good biscuit and want something quick and filling, it is an easy spot to hit up. You will also find one of the colossal Mickey cinnamon rolls here, and they are not joking when they say colossal! It is essentially three cinnamon rolls in one, including one giant roll in the middle and two smaller rolls that make the Mickey ears. The whole thing is drizzled with glaze for $7.49. Harambe Fruit Market
- The Harambe Fruit Market in Africa opens early and offers a variety of grab-and-go options, including the Stuffed Pancake Sandwich. This is more of a fruit stand, but they also have all-beef hot dogs, grilled corn, and Mickey pretzels, although they aren’t always available at breakfast. Harambe Fruit Market Menu
Joffrey’s Coffee Stands
- Animal Kingdom has two Joffrey’s Coffee stands, offering a variety of coffee drinks plus small, grab-and-go food options like colossal donuts, muffins, and pastries. The variety changes, but you can usually find something small to eat. There is a location just outside the main entrance and another back near Expedition Everest called Royal Anandpur Tea Company. This location is our favorite because, in addition to being the most themed Joffrey’s stand on Disney property, they offer a variety of tea, both hot and cold. The frozen chai here is absolutely delicious and hits the spot on a hot day!
Creature Comforts (aka Starbucks)
- Lastly, I cannot leave all you Starbucks lovers hanging! Creature Comforts is the Starbucks location at Animal Kingdom, where you will find all your typical Starbucks favorites along with a few items unique to the park, like the Mickey cinnamon roll.
