Five Facts: Mickey Mouse!

What would Walt Disney World be without their mascot Mickey Mouse? He has been there since the beginning and set the foundation for making Walt Disney’s dreams a reality. And for being such a little guy, he sure has an interesting history! Here are five fun facts about everyone’s favorite mouse!

1. In 1933, Mickey Mouse received 800,000 pieces of fan mail, which is more than any other star in Hollywood.

2. Mickey Mouse has over 290 different outfits, including everything from a tux to a scuba suit! His counterpart Minnie Mouse has more than 200 outfits, which includes a cheerleading ensemble and various evening gowns. And I thought I had a lot of clothes, ha!

3. If you were to take all the infamous “Mouse Ear” hats that are sold each year and place them next to one another, they would span 175 miles! Take that same amount and every man, woman, and child in Orange County, Florida would have a new hat to wear!

4. We all know that Walt Disney was the master mind behind Walt Disney World, but did you also know that he was the original voice for both Mickey and Minnie Mouse in 1929 to 1946?! After that, only three other men have supplied the infamous Mickey voice: Jim MacDonald, from 1946 to 1983, Wayne Allwine, from 1983 to 2009, and now Bret Iwan.

5. The number of Disney character tees sold each year is more than the entire Montana population.
